Spark was created to help service families and individuals. We decipher why people aren’t learning. Spark assesses students, young and old, to reveal the underlying issues preventing success in their educational environments. If there is a mystery, we’ll solve it. We help students get the support they need in school, at home and the community. Because we’re all former school district employees, we really understand how the system works. We know what learners need, what schools want and what the law requires. We help families cut through the red tape by writing all our reports in compliance with state and federal education law. This helps students in K-12 as well as college settings.
We are a cohort of seasoned professionals with over 325 years experience in the field of education. Over time, we’ve had the opportunity to work with and learn from some amazing professionals. Having this presence in the South Texas region has helped us meet and hire seasoned professionals from the community who love working with struggling learners. Spark team members all share common characteristics; we are driven by our own curiosity to understand. We are passionate about helping others understand. We want to be the spark that lights the way.
We are focused on solving even the toughest cases. Before we start any evaluation, we listen to your needs. We listen to your challenges and successes and fears. We want to make sure we are the right fit for what you need. We then custom tailor the evaluations to fit you. We know a 'one size' fits all approach doesn't work. If we think we aren't the right place for you, we will tell you that. If we're not the right fit, we'll help you find what is.
Although you may only be working with one person, you will have the power of our whole team behind you. Before our folks make any recommendations, our staff always request feedback from the team to ensure we provide the best and most up to date information.
Bridging Medical and School.
Ideally, there should be no gap between what your doctor says and what your school says. Realistically, we all know it's not that simple. One of the benefits of being "in the field" for so many years is that we understand the school system inside and out. Our professional lives exist on the boundary between clinical practice and school law. We have lived through the legal and philosophical confusion of when medical-meets-educational. Our team works to build understanding between the medical model and the legal school model so students don't get caught in the middle. We want you to get you the help you need personally and professionally.
We have built our reputation from the years of experience we have working with the community. Instead of selling you on us; ask other people what they think of us!
Mission and Values.
Our core purpose is to be the an amazing partner and resource in the community for learners. Whether that's for us to provide an evaluation or point a parent in the right direction; at the end of the day we want people to succeed.
We know that our reports will be used to help them better connect to their community of K-12 learning or secondary education. We do all we can to facilitate that.
